This Thursday, June 24, we’re opening up a new Denver tap room to feed our frenzy of Rocky Mountain fans, friends, and neighbors.

From 4 to 6 pm, we’ll be giving out free samples of our 20th anniversary Raging Bitch Belgian-Style IPA and summer seasonal Woody Creek White Belgian Wit. Additional pints and bottles can be purchased for $4 to $5, along with Flying Dog merchandise.

The tap room is tucked away on the corner of Broadway, Arapahoe, and Park Avenue West. Admittedly, it’s a little tough to find (even when we aren’t a few pints into the night). The address is 2330 Broadway, Suite 104, but a map’s a a bit more helpful:

The tap room will be open throughout the summer on Thursdays and Fridays from 4 to 6 pm.

A moving collection of black and white photography, accompanied by raw, authentic essays, Phlogs: Journey to the Heart of the Human Predicament, is Flying Dog founder George Stranahan’s latest book with co-author Nicole Beinstein Strait. It was recently the winner of the 2010 Next Generation Indie Book Awards in the Coffee Table Book/Photography category and the second place winner in the Non-Fiction Book category.

This Wednesday, George will be at Flying Dog’s new Denver tasting room from 5 to 7 pm signing copies of Phlogs. The event is free and open to the public. We’ll be giving away a few signed copies of Phlogs, along with free Flying Dog beer and munchies.

From there, George will be heading over to The Tattered Cover in LoDo for a signing at 7:30 pm.

2010, our 20th anniversary, is the year of the Raging Bitch. So for those familiar with all things @ and #, some call them TweetUps, but we call them Bitch Sessions - Gonzo gatherings of Flying Dog Twitter followers. What do we do? Simple: Eat, drink, and tweet…with a few beer specials, schwag, and entertainment mixed in between.

Our market managers in Maryland, DC, Virginia, Philadelphia, New York City, and Denver will hold Bitch Sessions on the first Thursday of every month, starting January 7. So far, we have the following planned:

• Urbana, MD: Buffalo Wild Wings and Beer, 7 to 9 pm

We’re working with some of the coolest dogs on the block to bring you the next installment of the #denvertweetup! Join @thebigklosowski, @redheadwriting and @flyingdog for an August 13 tweetup (6-8PM) at our warehouse (2401 Blake Street, two blocks north of the baseball stadium). So come drink free beer for a few hours and then come out on a LoDo pub crawl with a few hundred of your new closest friends.

We’ll also be accepting a suggested $5 donation for the Rocky Mountain Food Bank. We won’t be mad if you don’t donate, but don’t come crying to us when a piano falls on your head because of the negative Karma for not helping the hungry.

We have a special treat for you folks living in Denver. Matt Brophy, our Senior VP of Brewery Operations, is coming out to his old stomping grounds of Denver next week. With that in mind, we’ve set up a Meet The Brewers event next week.

On Wednesday, July 22, we’ll be converging on downtown Denver’s Paramount Cafe to sample a variety of beers, including our brand-spanking-new Belgian IPA. Come be one of the lucky few to try our newest member of the Flying Dog litter.

5-7PM is Happy Hour and we’ll have 1/2 off Flying Dog brews. Plus the first 50 people who show up get a free pint glass! We’ll have four taps for the evening, so we’ll be sure to have something that tickles your fancy.

We’ll be in the back lounge area, so come on down after work and hang out with us and drink some great craft beer.

It’s been a few months since we’ve had a Denver Tweetup, so we’ve decided we’re going to be having a Tweetup at the Blake Street Tavern on Thursday, July 23rd. So come between 6-8PM, and everyone who shows up (and is 21+), we’ll give you a free beer and free pint glass.
